#100happydays
Wednesday started out as a bit of a crap day. I woke up feeling like I hadn’t slept, and if you’ve ever woken up feeling like that, you know it’s not great. At all. But as with 99% of crap days, it got better. But the highlight of day – the ultimate pinnacle? An email of the best kind that contained this: After a final payment this month for my yoga teacher training, I got my instructor…

Tokyo – Day 2 – Chiba
We took the bullet train to Kyoto yesterday, and are now back on the train and en route to Hiroshima. I am very impressed by, never mind how fast, but how quiet the cars are on the tracks. Like any mode of transport, there are some bumps, so if our friends and family get a postcard with slightly chicken scratch printing (note that my printing is already sub-par), sorry! Day 1, was a half day of jet-lag…

Tokyo – Day 1 – Jet lag and randoms
Every time I travel, I always marvel at the whole time zone thing. It kicks my butt. After waking up at 4:30 am on Saturday to fly to Calgary in order to catch a connecting flight to Tokyo – Makes sense to Air Canada but still not to me⊠Though it did get us here earlier⊠– we landed in Japan on Sunday afternoon. With little sleep on the plane after an early morning, by the time…

Valentine’s Day & Packing
I’ve just finished packing my suitcase for our trip to Japan (more on that to come later), and now, I sit here with a nice glass of Pinot Noir and a glutenous pizza, watching Olympic highlights. (Hooray, Patrick Chan!) I’m on my own tonight as Miley Cyrus decided to start her tour in Vancouver. On Valentine’s Day. Which means I haven’t really seen Sean for the last few days as he’s been rigging the setup. We leave…

Happy 2014! – Snow Olympics, Goals
It’s 2014. How did that happen so fast?? I feel like 2013 went by in a blur but I know I enjoyed most of it – so I was at least present in the blur. It was fun, it was emotional, it was hard. But it was a great year and I am a better person for my experiences. We are in Alberta again this year to spend time with friends and family. New Year’s Eve is…

It’s official, I can finally drive
On Thursday something amazing happened: I passed my road test. AAAAAAAH!!!!!!!! After taking a break from learning to drive standard last summer (thank you, Kyle!), Sean randomly found me a driving school here in New West. It’s called Ladybug Driving and they are geared towards teaching women to drive. When I started, my instructor informed me that they don’t teach standard. And since I was such a bundle of nerves about driving – I cried during my…

Photo Fun with Tia Vath
I’m home sick today with a cold – yuck – and Sean is working. It’s been a really hectic few weeks and I know my body is telling me to sit still. A chance to take care of myself, catch up on the PVR, and nap. Can’t remember the last time I napped, so today is a blessing in disguise. And a chance to organize photos from the summer. My friend Tia recently left the corporate world…

Five Questions
I was at a workshop/dinner event last night and we had a very engaging marketing VP speak on ‘Self-Leadership: Learning Through Personal Understanding’. I know. It sounds a bit preachy, but when I got the email from the admin professionals organization I am a member of, I was intrigued despite/because of the topic. I love to learn and it was a great presentation that made all of us think about how our beliefs and values shape us.…
