About
Thanks for visiting West Coast City Girl! My name is Yasmine Hardcastle and I’m so pleased to e-meet you. I’m a Canadian city girl navigating ex-pat life in the East Midlands of England. My love (The Brit) and I moved across the pond from Vancouver to England in early 2021 and haven’t looked back! This blog is all about enjoying what the world has to offer while keeping well and staying on budget.

West Coast City Girl started out as a place to share random musings and recipes during a crazy cleanse way back when. Over the years it has become a place to share my love of travel, food + beverage and yoga, and some affordable #GetThrifty tips for it all. With me now based in England, tune in for stately homes and village content, plus my observations of the quirks of ex-pat life.
A little bit about me
In my day job, I’m a business and content coach to small business accountancy owners. I also teach yoga and host the City Girl Talks podcast. I finished paying off credit debt in 2018 — and if you live in Canada, yes, that’s me on the poster and in the testimonial commercial.
Very much a city girl, I’m more of a glamper than a camper. But wouldn’t you know it, we ended up in the countryside, and I’m 100% here for it. We love to play tourist in our town and firmly believe the best way to travel is to live like a local and get hygge wherever we are.
I balance my day job with the yoga and travel that feed my soul (and my need for good food and wine — or beer or whisk(e)y!) Yes, I’m one of those West Coasters that loves yoga. So much so that I became a certified teacher. I would be lost without the time I spend on my mat — it goes where I go.
I hope this blog inspires you to try new things and enjoy our beautiful world. Thanks for visiting and reading along!
