Monday morning spill and World Book Night

SPILLS

This morning my smoothie spilled. And not just on the counter (which is what normally happens). No, that would be too easy to deal with… Instead, my to-go smoothie container fell off the counter, on to our stone tile floor, broke, and sloshed my smoothie across the the floor and on to most of the bottom cupboards – AND up on to my jeans and top. Right as I was getting ready to leave the house. ****

Needless to say, I was not pleased with that clumsy moment and it set me back a good half an hour this morning. But I mopped the floor, I soaked my clothes, changed and ran out the door with a gluten-free dried cherry protein power muffin (a recipe that I will post tomorrow). Normally I would have stopped to take a picture of the mess but I just didn’t have time.

But I found a spot that I missed. You will note that this is a wall. What you can’t tell is that it’s the wall opposite the area of the spill site. So basically, our kitchen looked like a crime scene this morning. Mon dieu…

WORLD BOOK NIGHT

I found out this morning that this evening is World Book Night. (Check it out!) We recently saw the “The Hunger Games” and it is on the list for this event. I went and bought the book for us to read after we saw the movie but Sean has it right now. So pulling from the UK list, I am going to settle in with “Confessions of a Shopaholic”. I haven’t read it in a few years and it’s a good, fun read.

Sean is out with the guys tonight, so I have the house to myself. It’s me, cup of peppermint tea, and my book. Hopefully I don’t spill my tea all over myself and break a mug. 😉
