Wednesday started out as a bit of a crap day. I woke up feeling like I hadn’t slept, and if you’ve ever woken up feeling like that, you know it’s not great. At all. But as with 99% of crap days, it got better. But the highlight of day – the ultimate pinnacle? An email of the best kind that contained this:
After a final payment this month for my yoga teacher training, I got my instructor certificate! It’s officially official! I am ridiculously proud of and humbled by this achievement, and I don’t think I stopped smiling for the rest of the day. And I, of course, posted on Instagram (which I am obsessed with).
It was one of those moments I think this #100happydays challenge that people have started doing is about. It only got on to my radar yesterday, but I signed up today to start tomorrow. (This sounds like complete procrastination but it’s more so that I need clear parameters for things like this, so I can actually focus.) I’m a fairly bubbly person, but I can be a bit tightly wound – no comments from the peanut gallery! 😉 – so I am excited about focusing on smelling the roses and acknowledging the happy in my life.
There is a new-ish movie now out on DVD called “About Time” (in the “Love Actually” realm of romantic comedy that I LOVE). Without giving anything away (in case you haven’t seen it), there is a part towards the end where the narrator talks about acknowledging the sweet moments of every day. It’s really what we need to be doing. I forget sometimes (particularly when stressed and I haven’t done my yoga), so this is my concentrated effort to be my best and most authentic self: happy. 🙂
Some things that have made me happy in the past few months:
I’m looking forward to chronicling my happy days as Spring comes around. What makes you happy?
Have a lovely weekend!
