Hike Like a Duchess: The hiking boots I bought to trek the UK countryside in comfort and style

    February 19, 2022 /

Fun fact: I lived in Vancouver my entire life and never owned a pair of hiking boots. Trail runners, yes. But it wasn't until moving to the UK that I finally bought proper boots. And who better to look to than the Duchess of Cambridge for some outdoor shoe inspiration? This is my review of the Berghaus Supalite II GTX hiking boots.

Ch-ch-ch-changes! Today is my last day as a full-time freelancer and as the Social Media Manager @bcaletrail. Working for the @bcaletrail is an opportunity that started in 2018 with some influencer stuff, then blogging and really just being available at the right time. A chance to get paid to promote things I'm passionate about (travel, craft beer, BC and supporting local) was one I had to take. Thank you @socially_monica for reaching out to me about all of these opportunities and for being a lovely mentor and friend. Fun fact: I grew up in Vancouver and never owned a pair of hiking boots... until moving to the UK. It took an international move and not wanting to get my trainers muddy in the countryside to buy a proper pair of boots. Figures. 😂 Mondays call for the big mug. ☕️ Cheers to activating my OOO and getting fully into jingle mode. 🍻 I was looking through photos yesterday and this photo reminded me that I missed sharing a little Manchester recap. This will always be a hard day. You have no idea how much we miss you. 💔 This is as close to wearing a costume as I get. 🐭 Happy Halloween, friends! Be safe, have fun, share joy. Spent the summer taking mask selfies in ornate mirrors, wandering estate gardens and brushing up on English history. And then I forgot to share the blog post in the midst of the chaos of moving houses. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Link in bio for my favourite stately homes in the Cambridge and Suffolk counties. #CanadianExpat I’ll just be over here waiting for Halloween to end so I can put the Christmas tree up. 💁🏻‍♀️ Happy Friday! #FBF to my last dinner in Victoria before leaving for England. We paired a lovely @hestercreek Cab Franc Rosé with lemon-avocado sauce pasta (made by me with a fab @fraicheliving recipe) and prawns (expertly BBQ’d by @ian.derson — caught by him and @sarahh.yoga).
