    Date Night In

It’s already past the midway point of February! What the what? I had (what I had originally thought were) fairly realistic plans to get some Date Night blog posts done to coincide with Valentine’s day; but in the way of things, work and life got busy, and I need to sleep. My 5 Favourite Memories of 2017

The days after Christmas and before New Year’s Eve are always a time for both reflection and looking ahead, and I am drafting this all cozied up in a beautiful cabin in Lund (BC not Sweden, but perhaps next time??), sitting on a comfy couch with my feet up, listening to the fireplace crackling and the rain pelting down outside. So we bundled up earlier in December to brave the drizzle and had a hygge double date at one of my favourite places to visit during the holiday season: VanDusen Gardens’ Festival of Lights (open until Jan 7 if you haven’t been yet!) 0

Despite being fully charged when I left the house yesterday, my phone battery depleted quite quickly. Right in the middle of a murals tour we were taking. And I didn’t have a charger of any sort on me. Boo-hoo, I know. But I’d had some timed posts planned for the blog and on Instagram. And I wanted to take pictures. Total first world problems. But the universe was telling me something: put the phone away. The Brit’s phone battery was fine. So he took photos for me. And I actually enjoyed having an ‘unplugged’ rest of the day. It allowed me to fully focus on our guide and what she…

Hygge Honey Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

Life is a little chaotic right now, but baking relaxes me. And I’ve also discovered the wonderful world of hygge. Let’s get hygge and make cookies! Sharing a simple, tasty recipe for honey oatmeal chocolate chip cookies that will make your home smell and feel super hygge any time of year. About a month ago, I picked up a book a book called The Little Book of Hygge, and it, like yoga did many years ago (and still does), has inspired me to make further positive and healthy shifts in my life.
