4 Concerts Coming to Vancouver that You Need to See This Spring

I’ve just finished paying off debt (yessss!!), which means I have a bit more freedom to be thinking about some events I would like to go to. I really love concerts and these four events have sparked my curiosity, each for different reasons. They also aren’t ridiculous in price, so there’s a #GetThrifty bonus! 🙂

54.40 (March 29 – Abbotsford Arts Centre)

Okay, Abbotsford is not Vancouver and it’s a trek. But if you have the opportunity to see an unplugged concert of a legendary Canadian band (these guys are BC boys!), you should probably take it, right? ‘Young Gun’ and ‘Ocean Pearl’ are just a couple of this iconic band’s recognizable hits that they have created acoustic versions of for their ‘A History Unplugged Tour’. Their BC tour has been sold out so far, so make sure to get your tickets!

Jean-Michel Jarre (April 17 – QE Theatre)

I just read an article calling this French electronica icon the biggest music star you’ve never heard of, and it’s true! Unless you’re French or a European ex-pat, you’ve likely not heard of this Guinness record book holder, who also has UNESCO ties and was the first western artist to play a concert in the People’s Republic of China. This man is mega-talented and if you ask any. He’s playing Coachella twice in April, and in between he’s coming up to Vancouver to light up the Queen Elizabeth Theatre like it’s never been lit up before! Check out the below and tell me you don’t see where Justin Timberlake may have gotten his inspiration from a few years ago! Make sure you get your tickets for this amazing event!

2Cellos (April 25 – Rogers Arena)

Look at them. They’re beautiful. And they play a mean cello and figuratively tear the roof off every venue they play with they version of AC-DC’s ‘Thunder’. Right after they make you cry with this beautiful instrumental version of Ed Sheeran’s ‘Perfect’. My sources tell me Vancouver’s they’ve just opened up some more, so get them while you can! If you’re reading this from elsewhere in Canada, 2Cellos are playing across the country! Click here for cities and ticket purchase info.

Deva Premal & Miten with Manose (May 19 – Chan Centre)

Mantra is something that I’ve come to appreciate in the last few years as my personal and teaching yoga practices grow and evolve. The beautiful spirit that is Deva Premal and her partner, Miten, are coming back to Vancouver with their lovely harmonies and special guest Manose for the Soul of Mantra – LIVE! tour. They are playing the Chan Centre (one of my favourite Vancouver venues!) at UBC, and I look forward to feeling the incredible energy that mantra and chanting can bring in a group of like-minded people! Goodness knows we need a little more positivity in the world right now. Tickets are available here.
