What are your favourite cozy things? Here's a list of favourite cozy and hygge items — perfect to gift yourself or the cozy enthusiasts in your life this holiday season. Let's get cozy!
The temperature has officially gone from crisp to chilly in Victoria and I am here for it. It’s time to get cozy! I’ve loved unpacking and feeling hygge in all of my cozy sweaters and scarves, and my feet are such happy campers in my slippers. 0
Instagram is probably one of my top five favourite things about the 21st century, so far. One of the reasons is that I have met so many lovely people via the app in the last couple of years; one of those being Shamiza Ali, girl boss and designer of a local apparel brand, Edna SMaK. Yep, Edna SMaK. Just the name made me want to further explore, and she designs lofely clothes that work for every body. She is a super sweet girl with a motivating entrepreneurial spirit, and I am so excited to share a little collaboration we worked on together for a pair of leggings. But first, a little…
I love tea. I particularly love having tea with friends. I’ve mentioned the Blog Pod that I belong to a few times; these ladies have become a lovely group to get together with, and some of us recently had the opportunity to spend a hygge afternoon enjoying Secret Garden Tea Company‘s High Tea together. One day, all ten of us will be in the same room, but for this day we had me, Karlie, Emily, Po On, Melissa, and Orla. 0
It’s already past the midway point of February! What the what? I had (what I had originally thought were) fairly realistic plans to get some Date Night blog posts done to coincide with Valentine’s day; but in the way of things, work and life got busy, and I need to sleep. But I realized that posting after what I know some call a ‘Hallmark holiday’ works better. 0
The Brit and I finished out 2017 with a week of unplugging (or at least trying to) in Lund, BC. Lund is a little seaside village just north of Powell River, and depending on where you are, there is no cellular signal. It’s the perfect place for such an endeavour. 0
The days after Christmas and before New Year’s Eve are always a time for both reflection and looking ahead, and I am drafting this all cozied up in a beautiful cabin in Lund (BC not Sweden, but perhaps next time??), sitting on a comfy couch with my feet up, listening to the fireplace crackling and the rain pelting down outside. I’ve got a got a cup of tea and Vivaldi playing on my phone. The Brit is currently outside in said pelting rain, sitting in the hot tub – happy as a clam. (No joke. I thought my setting was way more hygge, but I’ve now also experienced hot tubbing…
My friend and fellow blogger, Orla (from travelorlabout.com and the blog pod I belong to) and I have been talking about doing some collab stuff and I thought this time of year would be the perfect. She and her guy, Jack, are away from their families this year (as is The Brit), and I wanted to make sure they had some Christmas cheer. So we bundled up earlier in December to brave the drizzle and had a hygge double date at one of my favourite places to visit during the holiday season: VanDusen Gardens’ Festival of Lights (open until Jan 7 if you haven’t been yet!) 0
